Establishment history of International Sports University, Maharashtra at Balewadi, Pune.
A committee chaired by former Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, Dr. Vijay Khole, prepared the necessary Act. The International Sports University, Maharashtra Act was published on 28/12/2020.
The Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, originally built for the National Games and later refurbished for the 2008 Commonwealth Youth Games, is the university headquarters. Public reporting in 2022 described first-phase undergraduate offerings after UGC nomenclature approval: Bachelor of Sports Science and Bachelor of Sports Management.
Early manpower planning publicly referred to a proposal of 213 posts, with phased recruitment of teaching, non-teaching and management positions. Actual sanctioned strength and appointments are subject to government and university notifications.
